If you want to learn about buying a portable DVD player for your car, then you'll want to read this article. Specifically we'll discuss the screen, portability and accessories. After reading this article, you should be able to buy an amazing portable DVD player that will make it a pleasure to watch your movies.

The most important thing about a DVD player is of course the screen. There is no point wasting your money on bells and whistles if the screen looks terrible. Get the brightest screen you can find when you are shopping. If you view a movie in your car you will notice the sunlight can wash out an average screen. It may help to get a swivel screen so you can adjust for sunlight. Most screens are between 7 and 11 inches measured diagonally. Choose the best size that appeals to you. I personally like bigger screens. But, of course, they come with a higher price tag.

The second most important aspect of a DVD player is the portability. Most players weigh 5 pounds or less so the weight is not an issue. When I purchased my player I chose one with the portability kit included. This meant it came with 2 headphones and a bag which attached to the headrest of my car. There are bags and straps you can buy separately, but I like the fact the player fits my unit exactly.

Another issue that gets neglected regarding portability is the battery life. Look for a battery that will last at least 6 hours for those long road trips.

The third feature that I look for is the availability of key accessories. Try to buy a player with at least 2 audio jacks. This makes it easy for your kids to watch movies together without disturbing you. Get a couple of good quality headphones they can really improve your viewing experience.

Don't overlook choosing a unit with a flash drive slot. It can allow you to watch downloaded movies without the need to burn a DVD. It also comes in handy for viewing family photos and listening to music.

So there you have it. These are the 3 most important issues to look for when shopping for your next portable car DVD. Keep your buying choices focused on the screen, portability and accessories you will be enjoying your blockbuster movies for years to come.
